As your Councillors in Wards 1&5, we would like to thank you for your continued dedication to ensure that we are making good decisions on your behalf. Over the last several weeks, we have had the opportunity to read through email petitions and hear the delegations from the residents of the Estates of Credit Ridge and Credit Valley in regards to their suggestions, concerns and questions with respect to the proposed developments along Queen Street West. We are committed to making sure that your voices are heard.
Councillor Vicente seeks motion for further consultation with residents
Councillor Santos explains benefits of ongoing consultation with residents
For this reason, at a Special Council Meeting held on August 5th, we moved and voted in favour of a motion for City Staff to conduct additional public consultation in respect to the Springbrook Official Plan amendments and developer proposed development applications. We took these steps after meeting with you and other residents in person where we all discussed the important need for this additional consultation to happen.
We would like to put emphasis on the fact that no decisions have been made with respect to any proposed amendments or projects; the Planning Act of Ontario requires that there must be a process that municipalities must follow to ensure all stakeholders have sufficient input before Staff can prepare final reports.
We look forward to working alongside you, always, and hope this update meets your needs and expectations.
